Drop-off, uniforms, lunch and how to reach a teacher. Everything a family needs in the first week.

01 · ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL

Doors at 7:30, bell at 8:30.

Dismissal

Drop-off is on 35th Avenue. Early drop-off from 7:30 includes breakfast in the gym and is free. Dismissal is by division from the main doors; after-school families collect at 6:00.

LATE

After 8:45 please come to the office and sign in rather than going to the classroom, so the teacher is not counting children twice.

02 · UNIFORMS

Maroon, grey, and nothing fussy.

EVERY DAY

Maroon polo or cardigan with the crest, grey or navy bottoms, closed shoes.

GYM DAYS

School t-shirt and shorts or track pants. Check the schedule for your child's lab days.

WINTER

Any coat. Hats and gloves labelled with a name, because they all look the same by January.

WHERE TO BUY

The school store, or any plain garment in the right colours. Nothing has to be branded except the crest polo.

04 · WHAT TO BRING

Four things, and no more.

A refillable bottle

Fountains on every floor. Bottles go home each night.

Indoor shoes · 3K–K

Kept in the cubby, so the classroom floor stays a floor children sit on.

A book

For the reading corner and the bus. Any language.

Nothing else

Supplies are provided and shared. Please leave toys and devices at home.

05 · STAYING IN TOUCH

You will hear from us weekly.

The Friday Note

One short email every Friday: what happened in the labs, what is coming.

Teacher notes

Early childhood families get a note home each Friday from the classroom teacher.

Conferences

November and March, plus any time you ask. You do not need a reason.

The office

(347) 732-4167, answered by a person between 7:30 and 4:00.

Emergencies

Text and email go out together, in English and the family's preferred language.
